Hello, and I hope you're having a wonderful November!
Q4 is my favorite time of year... and last Saturday marked 1 month since this website went formally public. Thank you all again for visiting and enjoying my art; it really means everything to me.
For all of your niceties I think I will bear a site update today... please look at it

(NOTE: if you aren't seeing the changes right away, refreshing should fix it)
I hope you enjoy looking through all the new pages! Barring stuff that I specifically want to save for later, that's all for the Peetledoodle backlog I think.
Next time, I want to add some more new pages and more mobile support.
If you missed it, a short new Episode released for Halloween called Nut Bread. Now that it's been out for a few weeks, I'll put my thoughts down here for those interested.
Nut Bread took only 26 days to fully produce + upload. That's by far the shortest time I've ever taken on an Episode... that seems like it makes sense given its short length, but usually I'm a very slow worker (as I'm sure many of you noticed). I want to try and keep this pace going forward! That said, I don't plan on doing any more short "Episodes" like this in the near future -- I think around 5-6 minutes is the most comfortable length for me.
This Episode was honestly very impromptu. Most of the time when I actually end up finishing a project, that's why... I've had a passing interest in doing a Halloween special all year, but I ruled it out since I was working on a longer, beach themed episode all Summer & going into Fall.
Then, October 3rd hit, and I suddenly was like, "Wait! Actually I do need to do this!!!" and produced it as fast as I could based on an idea my friend Natalie gave me a few months ago. I'm sure the quick production was felt by most of you when watching the final product (fast pacing, limited animation, somewhat abrupt ending), but I'm still very happy to have completed it... my goal with this series has always been to have something released rather than perfect.
Anyway, all that to say I hope you enjoyed and I think I learned a lot producing this one! Also, check out the concept art + other tidbits on the Episode page.
"1,000 ft. Under" was the title of the beach themed episode I wrote about here. I also teased it a bit on my tumblr and Bluesky.
This episode was about a certain character in particular, and it was quite ambitious, reaching about 8-9 minutes in total length. Around half of that was fully animated. However, after a lot of back and forth and painful consideration, I don't think now is the right time in the series to explore this specific topic so directly. It will come much better later down the line with more thoughtful execution & context. Put simply: I am not planning on finishing this episode as of now.
If you could see how many episodes I've scrapped, you would probably think I love throwing out my hard work... I really don't, though. It brings me a lot of pain each time and it's never an easy decision, but I've grown to have very high hopes for Peetledoodle, and I'm only one person -- an amatuer, really. My ambitiousness frequently gets in a tug-of-war with my perfectionism, then a big evil third player named "defeatism" comes and lights the rope on fire.
I don't think these cases are a waste, though. I always learn a lot through each production, about my characters, their world, and my own capabilities. That said, I really don't want this to happen anymore. So how about this:
I, Beatrice, known better as "Shrimps on Stilts" will, henceforth, not once more scrap an episode of "Peetledoodle" after its animation has undergone considerable production and/or been made public to the ever-so-valued peetledoodle.net visitors.
Okay? Now that I've gone public with this, I can't EVER go back on my word, right? Now we can move on to smaller and better things!
Umm, well no. I don't want to. I actually really want to release everything I've ever made. But this episode covered some stuff that I want to introduce and touch on better later, so I can't show it right now, or else it'd give too much away. At some point in the future, I'd like to make a page that hosts all the scrapped episodes I produced some portion of (there's a lot of them), and this episode can go there. But I understand you've been waiting for a while, and so have I. So for now, how about I at least give you the Soundtrack to "1,000 ft. Under"? I'm quite proud of what I wrote for it.

If you're still here and reading this, I'd like to just say thank you for bearing with me. I'm sure the news about "10,000 ft. Under" is disappointing, but be assured that it will only lead to a better series going forward.
If you're wondering about what the next Episode will be instead, I will write more about that next time, but I have 2 in the concept stage currently (unsure which to do first at the moment). For now, I hope you enjoy all the new site additions!
